Networking Questions: How to Win new Prospects and Influence them to Buy
Have you asked yourself this question when you’re out and about networking? Do you have networking questions?
Is networking part of your marketing mix? If not, make it, it’s powerful!
What is Networking?
This is how Google explains it: “…interact with others to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts”
There are many networks to choose from and likely something for every business. It’s not so much about where to network or which networking group to choose, it’s often more about: HOW do I connect with others at the event?
I’m not sure if you picked up on it, my headline above is an adaptation from Dale Carnegie’s ‘How to Win Friends & Influence People’
In that book Dale Carnegie gives some brilliant general tips to connect with people, whether for business or personal purposes
Let me share these 5 Principles from this book, which definitely apply to networking:
- Become genuinely interested in other people
- …a Person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound…
- Be a good listener, encourage others to talk about themselves
- Talk in terms of the other person’s interests
Can you see how those five principles would make it easier to start a conversation and gain the trust of others in the room when networking?
