Impact & Inspire with a Book

How Many Books To Be a Bestseller?

Do you know how many books you have to sell to become a Bestseller?

There is much you can find about how to market your book once you’ve written and published it but not much about how to make it into the Bestseller ranks

Becoming a Bestseller or #1 Bestseller is something almost ‘expected’ well known Authors achieve – but do you really know how many books need to be sold to achieve this ‘status’?

This quote from Patrick Snow: “Bestseller” is a manipulated term. If you want to be a bestselling author, take out a $100,000 loan and buy 15,000 of your own books from Amazon.”

…is somewhat off the mark. Big name Authors do certainly have marketing agencies alongside their publishers who make sure the sales will reach the numbers it takes to achieve the Bestseller Status, whether that is on Amazon or New York Times

And of course, the reality is that many authors dream of hitting that prestigious top seller list, aren’t you?!

Let’s face it, it’s the equivalent of becoming an Oscar Winner for Authors, isn’t it?

Kindle has made it easier than ever for nearly every Author to reach that top position of becoming an Amazon Bestseller.

Amazon’s CEO and founder, Jeff Bezos, has changed the way we discover and buy books with his incredible vision, which many laughed at, and he has changed the way we discover and buy books.

Amazon is undoubtedly the biggest bookseller in North America and growing rapidly in Europe.

Amazon, just like Google, remain quiet about how many sales it takes to make Bestseller

#1 Bestseller

It’s true that sales rankings are available on the Web site and are updated hourly, but information on how many unit sales it takes to make a title an Amazon bestseller are not given, of course.

That said, there are a few expert marketing agencies and publishers who have managed to reach the sales numbers you need in order to be able to add the title of Bestseller to your list of titles.

Typically in order to have a hope at becoming a Bestseller there needs to be a certain amount of sales within a very short period of time. That’s the magic combination.

AND it’s down to your categories – some categories are easier to get to Bestseller in than others.

Quoting from an article on Book Promotion: “Typically in order to have a hope at becoming a Bestseller there needs to be a huge influx of sales within a very short period of time. We’re talking about 500-1,000 sales must occur in order to appear on Amazon’s Bestseller radar.”

That’s actually INCORRECT – it really depends on the competition launching their Book on the same day as you are and how active they are AND how well you’ve chosen your Book categories.
