What Makes Women Give Up Rather Than Stand Up?
Recently, I witnessed a recurring challenge many women face, especially when it comes to self-promotion and seizing opportunities to showcase their expertise.
As time ticked closer to an important deadline, a few women expressed feelings of stress and overwhelm, voicing that they couldn’t prepare their promotional materials in time.
Instead of seeking support or finding creative solutions, they decided to step back entirely, opting out of an opportunity to stand up and shine.
This isn’t an isolated incident.
Too often, women—brilliant, capable, and talented—feel the weight of expectation, juggling multiple responsibilities while holding themselves to impossibly high standards.
When overwhelmed, the first thing they sacrifice is the chance to put themselves forward.
It’s as if self-promotion feels like a luxury, not a necessity.
But why does this happen? At its core, stress is driven by what we focus on.
When we see time as scarce and demands as insurmountable, it’s easy to believe there’s no way out.
Yet time, like anything else, is a matter of priorities. We make time for what truly matters to us.
The truth is, if we don’t prioritize showcasing ourselves, we not only deny our own growth but also set a precedent for future generations of women who may look to us as examples.
Imagine what could be possible if, instead of giving up, we asked for help.
What if we shifted our focus from overwhelm to opportunity?
The act of standing up—of saying, “Yes, I deserve to be seen and heard”—isn’t just for us.
It’s a ripple effect that inspires others, empowering them to step forward too.
This belief is what drove me to set up the International Women’s Virtual Expo Summit.
It’s a platform for women to showcase their expertise, connect with like-minded individuals, and share valuable insights that can shape 2025 and beyond.
Whether you’re an exhibitor sharing your knowledge or a visitor coming to learn and support, this event celebrates the brilliance and courage of women who choose to stand up.
To YOU who reads this, I invite you to join us and come Visit the expo.
Some outstanding women are coming together exhibiting their expertise.
Let’s make time to support these women who are making a difference, learn from their expertise, and take away strategies to expand our own businesses in the coming year.
Together, we can transform the narrative—from giving up to standing tall, for ourselves and the generations of women to come.
